  • Eafs-International will work with Home-Start Worldwide on an exploratory study to identify current monitoring and evaluation practices in all Home-Start countries across the globe. • Jan 2014 - Aug. 2014 Qualitative study on parenting needs and challenges in post-conflict Burundi.

Parents in post-conflict Burundi face a lot of challenges. They have to raise their children in one of the poorest countries in the world. Contrary to the challenges, facilities to support these parents are scarce. Since 2007 Burundian organization APRODEM - Girizina supports marginalized children and their families in order to ameliorate their future.
Now they want to focus on parenting support. However, l
ittle is known about what kind of support Burundian parents themselves indicate as necessary therefore in this project the voice of parents will   be starting point!Through training and capacity building together with eafs-international (research and development) APRODEM will develop this specific type of support.

This project will be carried out in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam. Two master students 'Parenting Support'  will assist in the field with data collecrion and write-up of the study. The project is partly funded by crowdfunding.
